Energy flows all around us. It’s how we tap into the light that makes our days different. The dark is present, waiting to fill a void. You either invite it in or watch it from a distance.
Projecting energy into the cosmos returns to you in various forms. I’ve been aware, or awake rather, to my own energy for a couple of years now. I’ve experienced its force more than once, and with cataclysmic consequences.
The pulse from this previous weekend was nothing less than that of a tsunami. To write about it in detail provides it with its own energy again, perhaps something I would prefer to not stoke back to life. Ebbing from fun and frivolity on Thursday night, through absolute disappointment on Friday to a flow of tranquil Zen by Sunday afternoon.
Each individual and every moment that came into my life over the past three days is there for a reason and, in turn, for their own purpose and destiny separately. All entwined, enraptured and engulfed. Their hum was fearless.
Light and dark act in a continuum. Their flow doesn’t cease upon an event or as you lay your head down at night. They reach out, allowing you to choose a path and interact with it playfully or recklessly.
As I choose again to move into today aware of the current around me, the less ethereal and individual question arises -œwhat if I hadn’t met them?
What if I hadn’t met my wife. I would never have met and known my two life-giving sons. Unfathomable in my mind. They are my centre. They are my light.
What if I hadn’t met the other genuinely beautiful souls who have been and are still around me. Who would I be? What would I have done?
Connecting with celestial theory and trying to be a source of light for others around me, at times I fail. I try again, because I am intrinsically linked and loyal to light.
The best part about energy is finding another to tap into and to live in symbiosis -” regardless of their external label, undefined by their status and role in life and without judgement of who they are, have been or what has gone before them.
There was a lot of light at the gym this morning. The sun was beaming through the windows, reflecting off sweaty, thick, veined forearms and glistening on heavy hamstrings gently strung up by the fabric of their shorts.
As I pulled the weights up and smiled at a new friend across the room, his wave and smile back was enough light to make my day.

Celestial theory? Projecting energy into the cosmos? Light and dark in a continuum? This is intolerable, new-age drivel and frankly the guy who wrote it seems to be bordering on certifiable. I worry about people who are so deluded by this mumbo-jumbo that it actually affects the way they see the world around them.

Tony, if you had an intelligent point to raise with your comment it got completely lost in the foolish way you expressed it. If you dont like the column, exercise your right not to read it. Only narrow minded bigots and fools dont like people with different opinions expressing them. The world is full of different people who believe different things. It doesnt mean they are wrong or certifiable. There are many ignorant people in the world who would probably say similar ridiculous things about your beliefs and life choices.
