Hair like Mitch Hewer

Known for his work in British TV series Skins, Mitch Hewer is a hot actor with a sexy blonde style. Beauty journalist Sunny Burns caught up with hair stylist Tom Hanley on how to achieve a Hewer hairdo.

“The key to Mitch Hewer’s look is texture, it looks effortless and not like it has been saturated in product,” Hanley said.
“Its an easy look to achieve at home but will take a few goes before you’re able to perfect it. It’s important your haircut has been textured and it’s not too short. It will take the use of two or three products to make your hair look like his and for the style to last.”

Steps to achieve the Mitch look:

Step 1: To get this look, firstly depending on the hair type I’m working with, I would use either a texture spray, or for fine hair a volumising spray. This first step is what gives the hair the grit to hold the style and helps define the texture in your haircut. There are various Schwarzkopf professional products that can be used, including Styling Juice or Volumising Pudding from its Essensity range.
While the hair is still wet, spray an even amount of product over the head. Be careful not to saturate the hair as this will make the hair too ‘dirty’ and it will become to hard to style.

Step 2: Next, blast dry your hair with a hairdryer, directing the air flow in different directions, which encourages definition and slight volume (the direction in which you dry your hair is the direction in which it will sit once dried).

Step 3: Once the hair is dry use a small amount of a dry wax product (i.e. nothing wet or greasy) to piece out little sections of hair and mould them into where you want them to sit. Try the Texturising Mud from the Schwarzkopf Professional Essensity range. I would do this by working the product into my hands and then only applying to the ends of the hair.

Step 4: Once you’re happy with how it looks you can finish with a small amount of the Air Fix Pump Spray from Essensity. This will make sure your style withstands a bit of wear and tear.
